Rolling Think Tank : E Bike Tours LA hosts LA Cycling Advocates + UK Media for an Insider Ride
When LA Tourism tapped us at E Bike Tours LA to host UK journalist Adam Bloodworth for a series of rides exploring the future of cycling infrastructure in Los Angeles, we knew we had a unique opportunity on our hands. We wanted to offer Adam more than just a ride—we wanted to plug him directly into the heartbeat of LA’s cycling community.
So, we thought: who better to join us than some of the deepest minds and boldest voices shaping cycling culture here? We invited Bike Talk host and cycling advocate Taylor Nichols, whose radio show has long been a megaphone for bike activism and urban mobility. He reached out to Don Ward, co-founder of the legendary Midnight Ridazz movement that helped spark a groundswell of grassroots night rides and critical mass gatherings across LA. And we called on Jennifer Nutting, founder of Handlebar Tours, who has built a vibrant community of bike tourists and urban explorers, sharing LA’s streets and hidden gems on two wheels.

What unfolded wasn’t just a series of rides, but a mobile roundtable—a traveling think tank on pedals—rolling through the city’s evolving network of bike lanes, river paths, and ambitious infrastructure projects. From the LA River revitalization to the new protected lanes snaking through downtown and beyond, this was a chance to unpack where LA is headed and how the city is (finally) beginning to embrace a more bike-friendly future.
Together, we swapped stories, challenges, and visions while pedaling through neighborhoods that represent both LA’s cycling progress and its ongoing potential. For Adam, this wasn’t just a tour—it was a deep dive into the human side of cycling advocacy in LA, powered by voices who have been on the front lines of change.
